this isn't a movie but i don't have a theatre category so it's going here until i figure something else out. i knew the gist of the story going in and a couple of the songs. knowing what was coming meant fighting tears from when hades set the conditions onward (as were many people in the crowd it seemed like). wait for me was INCREDIBLE. loved the rotating stage. also didn't expect to be so taken by persephone and hades. listened to the cast recording the entire rest of the time in nyc

(dc i'm begging you to introduce dick grayson, imagine the comedy with this particular bruce)

I first watched this maybe ten years ago, and I remember liking it. Rewatching it now and—everything hits harder. Criticism is easy. Great art can come from anywhere. Le Festin is perhaps the most beautiful song in the world?

this is...a marvel movie. Things happened and nothing was engaging. I know CGI fatigue is a tired argument but whew I really felt it here.

I liked the individual parts: the cast (Sofia Boutella! Sterling K. Brown!), mythology, and style. The overall plot was less engaging, and the dialogue was sometimes quite silly. But this is, like, my kind of movie.

Yet Another Rewatch

I remember not quite liking this season as much as season 1, and upon rewatch I like it even less. I'm not interested in big world-ending plots with mysterious organizations, and I don't enjoy the weird ninja stuff.

I enjoyed this, but there was a scene in the first act that made me feel so viscerally uncomfortable/horrified. Time loops are fun though!

I appreciate the more grounded take on super spy shenanigans, as compared to Mission Impossible or Fast & Furious. I could not get behind some of the character decisions.

How do I rate this movie? It's both a 4/4 and a 1/4. Every line of dialogue is overdramatic, both in content and delivery. The skateboarding is incredible.

The execution of this was not that great. I had trouble getting attached to characters and their motivations. The Tusken Raiders story in episode 2 was a standout.

I liked the music and visuals. The plot was strangely executed. Overall, good Disney vibes.

Loved this. It's an anthology of short Star Wars-verse stories by different anime studios. Favourite episodes: The Village Bride (beautiful music!), The Ninth Jedi (omg), and Lop and Ocho (gorgeous art/environments).

A lot better than I was expecting, because everyone says this movie is bad. It's fun! Venom the character is fun. The plot was not very interesting. I'm glad Anne and Dan were good characters and there wasn't an annoying love triangle shoved in.

Everything happens so much. I thought having both Sandman and Venom in this made it too crowded, and found a lot of plot points silly. Emo Peter dancing down the street was very funny. Disappointed in the way MJ was written throughout this entire trilogy. Love triangles are tiring.

I liked the identity crisis plot. Doc Ock's arms were very cool. I thought the initial fusion machine scene was overdramatic and silly, and then the following hospital scene gave me whiplash because of how violent and horrifying it was (I still have that shot with the nails stuck in my mind…ugh). The romance remains tiresome.

I haven't watched this the whole way through before. It feels very much a product of its time with the weird love story and damsel in distress plot points.

very dark and joyless. I adore the comic and I think I wouldn't have understood this movie if I hadn't read it before. The musical cues were strange and the way the flashback scene between the Comedian and Silk Spectre was shot felt incredibly uncomfortable and unnecessary. Watchmen was never great with women (idk if a product of its satirization or just the usual men writing women thing, I'm not a scholar) and I just have to look past it to enjoy the thing.
