The Lord of the Rings
context: i last watched the movie trilogy back when i was 9/10ish, and haven’t read the books. everything else is cultural osmosis.

- didn’t realize it’s THREE HOURS LONG. and it’s not even the extended edition.
- drink every time they say an iconic line
- new zealand is so pretty
- hopefuly by the end of the trilogy i will be able to distinguish merry and pippin

the two towers

- impossible to watch these movies without leo pointing at the screen every time they say A Line
- i probably saw this movie the most back in the day because it was always on tv. i didn’t understand the plot though and was always like ‘why are we switching back to the boring parts’ (i.e. the hobbit storylines)
- now frodo + sam is so much more meaningful, and merry + pippin galvanizing the ents…
- battle of helm’s deep is as spectacular as i remember
the return of the king

- wow i didn’t realize saruman is inexplicably not in this movie (theatrical edition)
- legolas doing elf shit with the elephant
- eowyn…iconic. her and merry were really sweet
- frodo and sam greatest of all time
