- The Heroic Legend of Arslan (Arslan Senki) by Hiromu Arakawa
- I’ve read this on and off for a long time, and just caught up with it again…I adore many things about it (Arslan being a kind, soft-hearted protag, mostly), but admittedly the war setting is not that interesting to me and a lot of time is spent on that. There’s only so many times you can watch the main characters destroy their enemies with ease before you start wishing for some actual stakes.
