• started with a sketch which ended up not being particularly useful in this case lol. I think it would be better for working out details (which I struggle with)
• was really despairing about this throughout. it looked so wonky. then after I finished, I sat back and looked at it and realized it’s actually not that bad. funny how that is.
• I think the key is to stop comparing it to the reference photo and look at it as its own painting. a study is always going to fall short in accuracy, details, realism, etc… logically I know this!
• switched from round brush to diamond brush halfway through. I just like them corners I guess
• based on a photo from a trip to seattle years ago!
