Weeknotes 44
- Some highlights from the last month (ish)
About the city
- I biked along the seawall, which I hadn’t done in a while

Watched
- A couple of World Cup games — Norway vs England, and Spain vs Argentina
- I finally watched X-Men '97 (season 1), which was good!
- I need to watch season 2 soon
- The Odyssey was good
- I should probably see it once more in theatres before it leaves
- Chungking Express makes the ordinary so romantic…
- Hadestown: The Musical — saw this multiple times (lol) and it was wonderful
- I had listened to the cast recording so much but forgot most of the staging, so it’s so great to have a mental image of what happens to go along with the music
- Your Name. made me want to get really good at painting backgrounds
Listening
- Working my way through Hermanos Gutiérrez’s discography
- here’s a performance on KEXP
Playing
- I got entirely consumed by the full Fields of Mistria 1.0 release last week and spent every moment of my free time playing
- Now that I’m in year 2 spring I think I’ve gotten it out of my system…
- many gameplay elements are identical to Stardew Valley so it’s been easy to pick up
- I’ve tried not to optimize my playing though, so I’ve done very little research
- I still feel a little bit of pressure when trying to complete the museum, but it’s been helpful not to know what the best way of doing things is
- I’m trying to relax! I can minmax in Stardew!
- I can be chill
- I think I want to romance Juniper, Ryis, and the secret bachelor…
Reading
- I’m still reading a lot and am enjoying it
- I finally read Six of Crows which was a lot of fun
- I love a good heist
- waiting for my Crooked Kingdom library hold to come in, which I’ve heard is even better, so I’m pretty excited
- I tried Dungeon Crawler Carl but it’s not for me and DNF’d :'(
- Yesteryear was intriguing but I have mixed feelings about it… it wasn’t the book I expected
- I’m currently listening to the Butter audiobook, which has constant descriptions of food that make me hungry
Thinking about
- Planner season—what to get? I’m following along with the daily Hobonichi announcements but I’m undecided on the format
- I’ve been using the Weeks this year and really like it
- but I kind of want to try the original format again?
- I had tried it back in 2023 but fell off, but this year I’ve been very consistent
- so maybe I can do it…
- though I’m also considering the forest planner by independent artist Nicole Josephine
- I used this in 2025 and also fell off, but that was a me problem
- wish I could be the type of person to use multiple planners to satisfy all my desires but alas
Recap

- pretty accurate depiction of July photos
