Weeknotes 22
In general
November is the worst month. Cold and rainy. The days are short, and the holiday season hasn’t quite kicked in enough for it to be romantic.

- 1-bit Puerto Rico by Rubén Rodríguez
- against the dark forest by Erin Kissane
- Apple Intelligence is for the Stupid Ones by Bridget Carey for CNET
- Belmonte Ballpoint font by TYPEHEIST — every time I see a nice handwritten font, I’m reminded of my nebulous goal of making my own. A holiday project, perhaps? My biggest obstacle at the moment is that I have no idea where to start in terms of software and process.
IRL
- I played Flamecraft, which is possibly one of the cutest board game concepts I’ve played. It’s got dragons! With punny names! Visiting shops! Doing enchantments!
Media
- I started rewatching Batman: The Animated Series. I watched this after school as a kid, and it’s strange to revisit it as an adult and see how dark it is. It’s very noir. I had watched the movie Mask of the Phantasm last year, which was similarly dark and eerie.
- I went to the library and borrowed a few books: A Guest in the House by Emily Carroll, Cobalt Red: How the Blood of the Congo Powers Our Lives by Siddharth Kara, and Ficciones by Jorge Luis Borges. Maybe I can reach my 10-book reading goal in the last six weeks of the year? It’ll be a Christmas miracle.
- I’m not gaming much. I haven’t played Destiny in several weeks. I might resubscribe to FFXIV?
Working on
- I started working on my media 2024 recap. I want it to be—dramatic, overkill. So far, it sucks! I love this horrible beginning phase of things where everything I’m trying is bad. It’s nice to look back on when I do muddle my way out of it.
- I want to publish these weeknotes, ah, weekly, for the rest of the year. They’ll be shorter and more lowkey as a result. After being overkill with a lot of my weeknotes this year, I’m allowing myself this.
