    Post-season retrospective. Thematic / vague spoilers below; more specific things are tagged.

    • The Rhaenyra/Alicent relationship is one of my favourites so I loved every interaction they had, even though their scenes didn’t always make sense…lmao
    • Aemond sucks obviously but his performance was RIVETING. Same with Aegon.
    • Loved it when anyone spoke Valyrian.
    • CRISTON COLE I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU even though he became kind of nihilistic and disillusionedtowards the end…I hated him SO MUCH in the first half of the season when he was on his bullshit
    • Dragons fighting is both cool and horrible!! Loved seeing them beautifully rendered and animated.
    • The finale was pretty anticlimactic, but it was nice to hear the house themes again (starks! lannisters!)
    • Loved the tapestry opening title animation!!

    For the first time, I started listening to Alt Shift X, and got through a few of their post-episode discussions and Q&A’s.

    Season 1

    I’m pleasantly surprised that this is…actually good so far? It’s reminiscent of early GOT. We all had our expectations crushed towards the end of GOT’s run, but HOTD is making up for it.

    I haven’t read the books as well, so it’s fun to speculate what’s going to happen! During GOT, I had read the books after season 2, but this time I’m going to keep myself unspoiled.
