    Context: I played the first game and loved it; I didn’t play this one in early access.

    These are mostly just bullet point thoughts.

    first impressions

    • I was debating about whether or not to play with god mode enabled (as I did for the first game) but doing so was the right call, I struggled HARD in the first few runs, particularly until I got the second weapon
    • I love it when Nemesis talks to me…
    • I love frog
    • I probably failed against the first boss like five times in a row, and then I stumbled upon a sicknasty boon combo that was so op that I beat that boss and ended up going all the way to fight Chronos in that same run (?!?! the epic highs and lows of gaming)
      • build description: sister blades. cast boons that had really good synergy: hestia boon to shoot fireball + allow ranged casting, demeter boon to freeze enemies inside circle, zeus boon to hit frozen enemies with lightning; also hex that morphs enemies (SO funny); daedalus hammer upgrade for +3 special arrows. this was all GREAT for attacking at range which really allows you to play safe lol
    • I can’t believe there’s digging, mining, and farming. just like stardew valley
    • gameplay remains as fun as ever
    • environments and art are beautiful. LOVE the second level down. everyone is super hot.

    • my favourite move in the whole game might be the axe omega special, which is a giant cleave. I don’t even use the omega attack (spin to win) because I am always using the special.
    • life is so hard when you want to romance EVERYONE but nectar is so limited!!! I am so sad when I run into my crush (Icarus) but I have nothing to give them!! and then when I do have nectar, they don’t show up!!! (Icarus)
    • I’ve gifted Nemesis the most though…#1 best girl…
    • hard to pick a favourite god for boons. I like Hephaestus blasts and Poseidon waves. I like seeing Apollo (ღ˘⌣˘ღ)
    • I always pick Selene when she shows up. love to slam the hex button at every opportunity
    • I’m not much of a buildcrafter so after I selected my arcana cards I kind of never changed them up…the first one I maxed out was the death defiance one.
      • it’s fun when I use the crystal figurine keepsake (from Circe), which activates 2 random arcana cards, and then it activates judgement, which in turn activates 5 arcana cards after a guardian lol. love to have every single card active!
    • I love any boon that allows me to do a ranged cast

    regions & bosses

    • I think I have successfully evaded Hecate’s morph attack like maybe three times at most lmao. that shit always gets me
    • I love Oceanus visually because water, and I love the Scylla fight. she’s so funny!! she hates melinoe SO MUCH!!! I Am Gonna Claw (Out Your Eyes then Drown You to Death) is a certified banger
    • the mourning fields are really fun in how you get to stay in one encounter for longer, so any boons that have effects by encounter can stack more.

    • visually, I think Cerberus’s attacks are so cool…all the aoe effects!!
    • Chronos arena #2 is cool
    • the Rift of Thessaly is conceptually maybe my favourite region? I love the mechanic of travelling upward through a fleet of ships. also Icarus shows up, sometimes
    • invoking Mount Olympus statues is fun
    • Prometheus is a loser and I love beating him up. his fight is cool though, I like his attacks. whenever he does his big aoe fire sequence, I have to count out which sections to run to.
    • Typhon fight gives destiny 2 Riven vibes!! i was like omg are we gonna have to run into his mouth lol (no). when zeus shows up i’m like [youtuber face].. also his tail and eye are so menacing, I always eat shit whenever I encounter them. the summit is probably my least favourite region.
